Bug Cleaners cleaning guide
Cleaning tasks are the bulk of every job: bag trash, wash dishes, clean grime and do the laundry. Dirty clothes need the dry brushes before the laundry basket, and the brushes need the sink or the water pail.
Most of a Bug Cleaners job is cleaning, not exterminating. Trash bags, dirty dishes, grime-streaked walls and a laundry chain that has its own tools — this is the half of the game where players lose the most time, and where the H key does the most work.
What counts as an objective
Every job hands you a list, and the list is the contract: clear it and the job is done. The recurring task types across the demo and launch maps:
- Trash. Bags and piles around the property. The blowtorch is the usual answer for the burnable piles; bags have to be dealt with rather than ignored.
- Dishes. Sink and counter work, and one of the first things new players miss because it does not look like a task until you are standing in front of it.
- Grime. Walls, tiles and surfaces with dirt that needs washing off — closer to a power-washing minigame than bug hunting.
- Laundry. The chain that confuses everyone: clothes, brushes, a basket and a hanging spot.
- Windows. Opening or cleaning windows appears as an objective type and was a common early stumbling block.
The laundry chain, step by step
This is the task most players get stuck on, because nothing in the game explains the tool requirement.

Finding the tasks you missed
Press H. The game highlights outstanding task objects inside your current view with a solid colour, and it was added in the June Next Fest patch precisely because players were wandering for minutes hunting the last chore. If H highlights nothing, you are looking at the wrong room — walk elsewhere and press it again.
The hint system's visuals were sharpened in July, so a modern build shows the highlighted objects clearly rather than faintly. If you are on an old demo build and H feels useless, that is the version, not you.
Honest expectations
Some demo players bounced off the ratio: one Steam review described the game as "about 90% cleaning and dispose of waste, the other 10% killing some bugs". That is a fair description of the loop. If you want a pure extermination game, the cleaning half will frustrate you; if you liked PowerWash Simulator-style chores, the bug hunting layered on top is the bonus rather than the point.
